Welcome message from Prof Carmel O'Sullivan

welcome to the career leap website...

Career LEAP is an innovative educational intervention to help at-risk young adults (18-25 years) develop the social, emotional and cognitive skills necessary for developing career identity and work-readiness.

Work-readiness concerns the extent to which people possess the attitudes, skills and knowledge that enable them to be effective and successful employees. Developed by Prof Carmel O’Sullivan in the School of Education, Trinity College, and her research team (Dr Jennifer Symonds, UCD and Dr Jos Akkermans, VU Amsterdam), this intervention includes a 2-week training programme made up of 10 short modules that translates theory from educational and occupational psychology into creative pedagogies and active learning. It is followed by a 3-week unpaid work placement offered by local businesses.
